Build squad
Designs, prototypes, and refines the robot's chassis, intake, and scoring mechanisms.
The Team
Thunder Busters is organized into student-led squads so everyone has a clear place to contribute while learning how all the pieces fit together.
Meet some of the Thunder Busters team members who design, build, and program our robots.

At the start of each season, students explore different roles through mini-projects and hands-on challenges. Then they choose a primary squad where they can deepen their skills and take on more responsibility.
Older students and returning members mentor newer teammates, helping them learn tools, software, and competition strategy. This peer-to-peer teaching is one of the most powerful parts of the team.
Student Leadership
Students guide design decisions, set goals for each meeting, and own communication with judges at FTC events. Adult mentors provide safety, support, and experience along the way.
Designs, prototypes, and refines the robot's chassis, intake, and scoring mechanisms.
Programs autonomous routines, tele-op controls, and sensor feedback for consistent performance.
Leads outreach, branding, documentation, and presentations to judges and the community.
The list of possible roles grows each season, but here are some of the most common ones.
Coaches guide the team, keep everyone safe in the shop, and help students turn big ideas into robots that can compete.
